"The ultimate Dior woman, seen through a futuristic eye"
Inspiration: 1950s
Mouths were made smaller by using a technique of blurring the edges of the lips via finger-pressing of foundation at the lips edge. Lips were stained with a fuchsia pink and with the blurred affect around the edges the lips appears to be fading or smaller.
Eyes played with the classic cat-eye which was done in liquid silver. Upper lashes contained the drawn in flick as usual, the difference was that the bottom of the lid beneath the lower lash line and also on the inside corner toward the crease also had a flick, creating a new cat-eye inspired shape that "pronounced the eyes more and gave them a new elegance," - Pat McGrath.
Hair was also inspired by the 1950s, the ultimate goal was to infuse a classic fifties couture hair style with a twist of newness that came about by making the hair seem wet, "as if an uptown woman was caught in the rain," -Guido Palau.
Thus the hair was structured, pinned up into a twist silhouette with texture, that exuded overall, elegance.
