The Look Backstage: Armani Prive 2013 Spring Couture Collection

Inspiration:  Middle East, "Thief of Bagdad"

Hair were's slicked and put up so that the wrapped headwear would fit all the way around. Long, wet, stranded faux-bangs were created.

Makeup was vamped up with red lips and bold cat eye shadow that were drawn in above creases.

The Look Backstage: Donna Karan 2013 Spring Collection

Juxtaposition

The look backstage for makeup started with MAC Face and Body Foundation mattified with powder in the T-zone.

Brows were bleached to keep to the juxtaposition and to the ethereal look of the collection.

Blocked-off wings were drawn using eyeliner in Magenta color

Brushes dipped into MAC Chromacake were used to paint top and bottom lashes hot fuchsia.

Lips were kept shimmery in a pinkish hue.

Hair was pulled up into ponytails that folded onto itself to create a flat panel at back.  Hair around the hairline were sprayed to create a wispy floating look, Ocean Spritz Beach Texture Spray was used to give strands a shine-free, naturally gritty look. Heads were adorned with frosted Perspex headpieces (designed by Stephen Jones). 

Nails were given two coats of a custom-mixed nude varnish composed of MAC Nail Lacquer in Quiet Time and Cream Delicate.

The Look Backstage: Burberry Prorsum 2013 Spring Collection

"She's retro but also modern and has a definite forties look about her."  -Wendy Rowe

Inspiration:  Norman Parkinson

A crimson mouth achieved by the use of Burberry's lipstick in Siren was the focal point, the crimson mouth featured a "not too done up" look in order to achieve the vibe of "sassy and sexy-ness".  Lipstick was applied with a brush and continual blotting.

Faces were made fresh-looking with the use of Fresh Glow Foundation and illuminator.

Hair was prepped with Bumble and Bumble Does It All Styling Spraying, parts were off-kilter, slightly away from the middle but not quite to the side. Few sections of hair were run through a curling iron to "create movement through the lengths". Hair was finished off with Bumble and Bumble Brilliantine at the ends of the hair to give off a healthy and moisturized look.

The Look:  Last-night's make-up & hair

Inspired by the girl who stays out all night

The make-up begins with a clean, fresh, natural-looking base.  Cheeks, nose and foreheads are highlighted to shine and give a brightness (especially below the eyes).

Eyes are made to look like last-night's makeup.  Thickly rimmed eyes, a coat of mascara and smudging below the eyes give off an attitude as if this girl's been out all night long.  Absence of color on the lips except the natural pinky lips takes this "out-all-night" attitude home.

Lids are brushed with a light taupe and hair is side swept and messy- also very "out-all-night".

The Look Backstage: Altuzarra 2013 Spring Collection

Inspiration:  Catherine Deneuve meets Yves Saint Laurent

Hair consisted of a sleek side part, prepped with frederic Fekkai Full Blown Volume Styling whip, then gathered into a low ponytail that was coated with Sheer Hold Hairspray to create a lacquered look.  The low lacquered ponytail was done in a "half bow" (pictured below).

Brows were filled in to define shape and saturation in color.

Makeup featured a stroke of eyeliner on the upper lash line, color: navy/royal blue. It was important that the liner ends were more of a straight line that consisted of NO wings.

The streets

Inspirations for the look:  Kurt Cobain & Courtney Love

Inspiration for hair:  90's grunge

To achieve the 90's grunge hair reminiscent of Kurt Cobain lead hairdresser for the show Hanlon:

1. Spritz strands with Frederic Fekkai Coif Oceanique Tousled Wave Spray & TIGI Bed Head Superstar Queen for a Day Thickening Spray to achieve the stringy texture.

2.  Different colored extensions were glued on so that models appeared to have sections of bleach amid their natural hair color.

3. TIGI Bed Head After-Party Smoothing Cream was spread through the length of the hair with hands to create a more naturally used feel.

4. Roots were brushed with a variety of MAC Eyeshadows in carbon blacks, dark browns and grays.

The lips

Skin was given a pale, satin finish while lids were brushed with a wash of green-gray eye-shadow, eyes were then lined at the inner rims with Chanel Le Crayon Khol Intense Eye Pencil in Clair.

Lips were outlined with Le Crayon Levres Precision Lip Definer in #55 Fuchsia, then brushed in the full lip with Rouge Allure Velvet luminous matte lip color in #37 L'Exuberante.

The Look Backstage: Marni 2013 Spring Collection

"We decided [it] (as in the makeup) should be very pure,"  -Tom Pecheux

The look was achieved by starting off each girl with a deep-tissue rubdown using Estee Lauder DayWear Advanced Multi-Protection Anti-Oxidant Creme and the Idealist Even Skintone Illuminator, this was followed by a finger-blending of MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation- this gave off a healthy skin tone with a glow.

Cheeks were made fresh by the use of a combination of MAC Cremeblush in Posey and red-tinged Mineralize Rich Lipstick in Lushlife.

Slightly darker but transparent rouge color was used on eye-lids, this was achieved by smudging MAC's mineralize Rich Lipstick in Glamour Era (plum black) across the lids, then mixing it with Cream Colour Base in Root (dark brown); the colors were buffed into the lash line.

Tips of the lashes were coated lightly with mascara while brows took on a "creamy" filled-in look and lips were stained by layering lipsticks that were used for other parts of the face.

Hair took on a deconstructed coif with worn-in texture look that appeared overall to be organic and downtown-esque.
